With an ever increasing diversity in places to wine, dine and have a good time, Sacramento is on the rise. Additionally, with the new Golden 1 Center opening this October, the downtown and midtown scene will soon be changing even more.
Of these changes, few are as exciting as the Sacramento Walk of Stars. What is that, you may ask?
The Sacramento Walk of Stars is a hometown version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but it’s purpose is to recognize and celebrate the talented people born and bred in Sacramento that are making a difference in the region, nation and the world.
The Walk of Stars will feature bronze and terrazzo stars to be placed at locations along J, K and L streets from 21st Street in midtown to the Golden 1 Center in downtown.
This is a Sacramento community project and will operate as a nonprofit organization. With plenty of community leaders sponsoring and involved in the event, it shines a light on the rising region. Additionally, the organization will provide educational, cultural and economic benefits for residents, businesses and visitors to the region.
This year’s inaugural event will take place on August 31st (buy tickets here: http://bit.ly/2a5jml9). Featured guests are listed below. My personal fave is Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton.
Can’t wait to see this exciting feature on the streets of Sacramento!
